"Addiction In Black and White" is another shot with a ton of meaning behind it. This was my very first photographic attempt, and is also my only black and white photo. The shot has great compositional strength with all of the diagonals, but the meaning it holds is what makes it a winner for me. I wanted the shot to symbolize humanity's business addiction and portray what I see as a "Commuter Nation." Looking back on the shot, I also see it as the beginning of my addiction to photography! ----------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you so much! ----------------------------------------------------------------
I'd love critique of the composition of this piece, and it's overall success (or failure of success) as a black and white piece.
I very rarely do b&w, so I'd love some good black & white experts to give me some advice on this piece, and what I can do to improve in the future.
I'm brand new to photography, and I've never taken an art class. So besides my eye, I don't know what is or is not technically good. ----------------------------------------------------------------
★what a shot!!! and how much more it gains ... just because it is in black-n-white! what really amazes me is the sense of anaglyph the cement of the road gives you - in total contrast with the solid black of the passengers' legs, and of course the net of lines that dominates the pic ... excellent!!!!·٠•. ٠•˙·˙·٠•. ٠•★ ♥♥♥
It's a really significant piece for me personally, and I think it holds a lot of truth about the society of our world today. I tried to capture both ideas in one, and I hope I succeeded in that.
I don't think anyone has ever presented five amazing pieces of photography to me in one chunk before. Amazing linear composition and the directional photography.
i'm in the same situation as you are .. never did class for this stuff i just do them by ear ... anyway i say it's a good composition as it is and the long shadows are really an eye catcher ...
it just depends on what you were trying to achieve ... and i don't think you wanted that cement in the corner to attract the eye more then the shadows ... so i'd suggest maybe a crop to eliminate some of that "blind" spot of all that cement that catches the eye with all it's cracks and stuff ...

You just made my day with that, really.
